2026 Shipley School China Tour Concludes Successfully
In June 2026, following the visit of a delegation from Utah, the second U.S. student group organized by Deno International Education Consultant – teachers and students from Shipley School in Pennsylvania – completed a multi-day cultural exchange tour across China. From Shanghai to Wuxi, from Nanjing to Beijing, the journey fostered deep connections and cross-Pacific friendships.
Shanghai · Urban Rhythm Meets Tradition
The first stop was Shanghai. Students explored landmarks such as the City God Temple, Yu Garden, and the Bund, experiencing the city’s blend of ancient heritage and modern vitality.
A highlight was the visit to Shanghai College of Science and Technology, where the delegation toured Shanghai SAGE Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. There, they gained firsthand insight into China's vocational training systems and the "industry-education integration" model.
At Shanghai SMIC Private School, Chinese and American students paired up one-on-one for an immersive campus experience. Coinciding with the Dragon Boat Festival, they joined traditional festive activities together. Language ceased to be a barrier as shared interests and teamwork quickly brought them closer.

Wuxi · Youthful Encounters by the Water
In Wuxi, the group visited Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School during graduation season and joined the campus farewell concert – where music spoke louder than words.
Later, students from local Wuxi schools and Shipley mixed into teams for an exploration of Huishan Ancient Town, Nanchang Street, and Tianshang Cunqian Historical District. With cobblestone paths, arched bridges, and white-walled houses, they immersed themselves in the poetic charm of the Jiangnan water towns.

Nanjing · History and Hands-On Culture
In the ancient capital of Nanjing, the group toured the Nanjing Museum, Jiming Temple, Confucius Temple, and Xuanwu Lake, tracing the rich layers of Chinese civilization through historical sites.
At Nanjing HT School, Chinese and American students made dumplings, wove Chinese knots, and tried paper-cutting together. HT's emphasis on experiential learning shone through as the American students, fully engaged, displayed genuine curiosity and affection for Chinese traditions.

Beijing · Grand Impressions on Foot
The final stop was Beijing. Through city walks, the group explored the Forbidden City, Juyongguan Great Wall, 798 Art District, and Olympic Park. Ancient walls and contemporary art stood side by side, presenting a multifaceted, authentic, and vivid impression of China.
From the Huangpu River to the Great Wall, from the aroma of zongzi to the waterways of Jiangnan, Shipley's students returned with knowledge, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
