This year, U.S. News continues to rank professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing, including different specialties in each field. Ranking data for all six disciplines comes from a statistical survey of 2,214 programs, as well as a reputation survey of approximately 6,300 academics and 12,690 experts conducted in fall 2022 and early 2023.

In addition to the six major disciplines ranked annually, U.S. News regularly ranks programs in the sciences, social sciences and humanities, health, and many other areas based solely on ratings from academic experts. This year U.S. News released a new ranking for the burgeoning field of physics, called Physics of Living Systems.
